Spider-Who Part 135: Spider-Thor

While Secret Wars 2015 is going on, we’ve seen a Thor version of just about every character in Marvel Comics, but Spider-Man hasn’t been one of them (so far as I know). This version of Spider-Man is from the pages of Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #40. In this comic series, Peter Parker is still only 15 years old and attending school.

In the story, Spider-Man is put under the bewitching spell of Amora the Enchantress, who has been banished to Earth from Asgard, and is in the process of looking for the powerful Norn stones. She enlists Spidey’s help to fight her way back into Asgard having now assembled the Norn stones into a necklace. During the fight in Asgard, Amora sits on Odin’s throne, and puts the Norn necklace on Spider-Man which gives him the power of Thor, and even magically creates armour, a helmet, and his own hammer. Just to be clear once more, the hammer Spider-Man is wielding is NOT Thor’s real hammer, Mjolnir.

Just as Spider-Man seems to be besting a whole host of Asgardian warriors, the real Thor arrives and hits Spider-Man and The Enchantress with his power. The blast knocks the Norn necklace off of Spider-Man, returning him to normal, and also breaking Amora’s spell over Spider-Man. Seeing this Amora attempts to put her spell on Thor, but it doesn’t work and she quickly finds herself in the dungeon, while Spidey gets to share in a great feast of victory with the Asgardians.
