Spider-Who Part 129: Spider-Falcon

In the currently on-going Secret Wars 2015 event, several different realities were mashed together into a single planet called Battleworld. Battleworld is the only thing remaining of the entire Marvel Multiverse. Each reality makes up a territory on Battleworld, isolated from each other. One territory is based on a world where the Civil War story had a vastly different outcome. One where a massive explosion, far larger than the one that started the whole Civil War event, wiped out all of St. Louis and killed millions, including a multitude of superheroes and villains. America was split into to halves, one called The Iron, ruled by Tony Stark, and on called The Blue, watched over by Steve Rogers, Captain America. The war still rages.

A lot of tech and identities of those who died have been given to those who survived. A prime example is the Spider-Man of this war zone. In this reality, Peter Parker stayed on Captain America’s side, and basically became his second in command. He was given the wings and tech of Falcon, thus I’ve nicknamed him Spider-Falcon, even though he’s still just referred to as Spider-Man in the pages of the comic. He still uses his web-shooters, but as you can see he’s abandoned his traditional Spider-Man costume, though he does keep some red and blue.

Peter is heavily emotionally damaged from the war. Mary Jane and their daughter were stuck in New York City, which is the side of America that Iron Man took control of, so they have been separated for years. If they do get to see each other or talk, it’s very rare. Also, the death of so many heroes and friends have emotionally stunted him to such a degree that when another teammate/ friend is killed, Peter admits he doesn’t feel anything at all. He knows how he should feel, and remembers how he would have felt years ago, but now, nothing. All of this means that his personality is drastically different. He no longer quips or jokes, is all business, and has definitely adopted a soldier mentality and become fiercely loyal to Captain America.
