In the Secret Wars 2015 storyline “Spider-Man Renew Your Vows” we were introduced to Annie May Parker, Peter and Mary Jane’s daughter. She has inherited Peter’s spider powers, but they live in an area of Battleworld ruled by a super villain named Regent. Regent has hunted down, and either captured or killed all the super heroes, and any villains that have biological super powers so that he can absorb/steal and use their powers for himself. Anyone who has powers that come from equipment or tech are allowed to work for Regent as his personal guards or troops.
In order to keep himself and his family hidden, Peter has invented a power damper bracelet that make powers not work while he or his daughter are wearing it. Eventually everything goes crazy, and young Annie, who has been craving to use her powers all her life, is finally allowed to unleash her desires to help her father. She makes an impromptu costume and suggests she could go by the codename “Amp” simply because it is not only her initials, but so then she could say things like “Amp it up!”
