In 2015 Jessica Drew of Earth-616 decided that her skin tight red and yellow spandex was too much hassle to deal with, and it was time to update her costume to something more practical. Also, after the events of Spider-Verse and the seemingly never ended “End of the Earth” situations the Avengers are always in, she also decided that she’d had enough with the all the huge crazy stuff. It was time to go back to her private eye detective roots and focus on the small stuff.
So with that, Jessica Drew quit the Avengers, reopened her old private eye business, and started looking for work to pay the bills. She also got a cool motorcycle that matched her outfit. Speaking of her new outfit, it handily converts from superhero costume to casual wear with just a few easy modifications. Even her sun glasses change to resemble a sort of mask when needed.
She’s since partnered up with Ben Ulrich, a famous reporter in the Marvel comics who not only deduced the secret identity of the Green Goblin, but also that of Spider-Man all on his own. Also along for the ride, in a sort of comedic sidekick role, is villain turned good guy, Roger Gocking aka The Porcupine. Starting in October after the 2015 Secret Wars event Jessica will be facing the biggest challenge of her life; being a mother!
