Set in the same Amalgam universe as Spider-Boy, Mig-El Gand became trapped in the Phantom-Negative Zone for 100 years. From there he was able to watch the life and adventures of the original Spider-Boy, Peter Ross. While in the Phantom-Negative Zone, he slowly absorbed radiation, but before it killed him he was rescued by The Legion of Galactic Guardians 2099. They gave him a Spider DNA Serum to cure his radiation poisoning, which then also gave him spider powers. Being a huge fan of Spider-Boy, Mig-El decided to become the new Spider-Boy of the year 2099.
